Aspects of Love
Music by: Purcell, Strozzi and Monteverdi
Since their formation in 2014 at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Baroque Ensemble Ceruleo have taken part in the leading early music festivals including the Brighton Early Music Festival and the London Baroque Festival. Their programme includes Purcell’s “If Music be the Food of Love”, “Sweeter than Roses” and “Sound the Trumpet” as well as duets by Monteverdi and Barbara Strozzi, a leading singer and composer in 17th-century Venice and the first woman to have her music published.
